Michael Robert Evans, 51, of Sandusky, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, in his home.
Michael was born Oct. 8, 1956, in West Union, Ohio. He was a 1975 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was a U. S. Army veteran, and worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for the last 24 years. He was affectionately called "The Mailman."
He is survived by his wife, Shannon (Plasman) Evans; his three children, Michael Paul Leaser of Bronx, N.Y., Matthew Robert Evans of Sandusky and Meghan Elizabeth Evans of Baltimore, Md.; two stepsons, Nick Plasman and Austin Plasman, both of Sandusky; two brothers, Lawrence "Larry" (Joyce) Evans of Sandusky and Marion "Dutch" (Roseanna) Evans of Blue Creek, Ohio; three sisters, Wanda (Wade) Wright of Wheelersburg, Ohio, Karen L. Evans of West Union, Ohio, and Cheryl (Joe) Hossler of Fremont, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Paul and Mildred Ethylynn (Lamm) Evans; a brother, William Paul Evans; three sisters, Patricia Lou Blankenship, Christine Evans Ebright and Bonnie Lee Evans; a niece, Jennifer Shannon Ebright; and a nephew, Chad Eric Evans.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. Sunday until a Service of Remembrance at 3 p.m. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
