Robert D. Rehark, 82, of Norwalk died early Wednesday morning, Oct. 31, 2007, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
He was born April 13, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the now deceased Chauncey C. and Norma (Dorr) Rehark and came to this are in 1956 from Mansfield, Ohio. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II. He received his bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University where he was co-captain of the wrestling team and an Ohio Collegiate Wrestling Champion and was also on the Golf Team. He was a member of Norwalk First United Methodist Church and attended St. Paul Episcopal Church with his son. He was past president and Lion of the Year in 1981 of the Norwalk Lions Club, a member of Mt. Vernon F&AM Masonic Lodge 64, a 50-year member of Norwalk Elks Lodge, a member of Firelands Post 2743 VFW, American Legion Post 41, and Huron Lodge 37 IOOF. He worked at Iron City Sash and Door (Whitmer-Jackson) in Cleveland, where he had been company wide salesman of the year. He was a stock broker for Mid Ohio Securities in Elyria, Ohio, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed golf and played in the Norwalk City Golf Championship. He also enjoyed wrestling and working out at Ernsthausen Community Center.
He is survived by his son, Michael W. (Debra) Rehark of Norwalk; his daughters, Pamela (David) Simek of Blue Ash, Ohio, and Jayne Rehark-Duff (Douglas) Duff of Magnolia, Texas; and by four grandchildren.
Friends may call from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. today in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Services will be private. Inurnment will be in Milan Cemetery.
