Linda J. Lorentz, 56, of New London, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, in Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, after a 10-month illness.
She was born July 18, 1951, in Port Clinton. She grew up in Oak Harbor and lived in New London for the past 26 years. Linda was a 1969 graduate of Oak Harbor High School, a 1973 graduate of Bowling Green State University and earned a second degree from Ashland University in 2000. She worked at American Colors in Sandusky for several years. At the time of her death she had been employed at Firelands Electric Co-Op in New London for 22 years as director of finance and accounting. She attended New London Alliance Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela (Benjamin) Wittman of Delaware, Ohio; her son, Ryan Lorentz of New London; her mother, Betty (Behlmer) Schmidt of Oak Harbor; her sister, Barbara (Richard) Carper of Gibsonburg, Ohio; and her special friend, Jim Mitchell of New London. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Schmidt.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at New London Alliance Church, 4625 Ohio 162 W., New London with the Rev. Howard Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Nova Cemetery.
