Betty Jean Emery, 88, of Sandusky County Road 302, Bellevue, passed away Saturday Oct. 27, 2007, in Arbors at Clyde.
She was born April 30, 1919, in Bellevue, the daughter of Clyde and Estella (Huffman) Waychoff, now deceased. Betty was a 1937 graduate of Bellevue High School. She worked for Bellevue City Schools in the cafeterias, helped at the Bellevue Hospital Gift Shop and, along with her husband, owned and operated the former K&E Clothiers in Bellevue. She was a member of Seybert United Methodist Church, the Four County Young at Heart and Eagles Aerie 490 Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed playing cards at Four County and was a diehard Cleveland Cavaliers and Indians fan.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Bob) Skiles of Bellevue; granddaughter, Cindy Skiles of Bellevue; and great-grandchildren Hannah and Caleb. In addition to her husband, Kenneth Emery, whom she married June 30, 1939, in Bellevue, her parents ; sisters, Wilma and Hilda; and brothers, Challen and Harlin, preceded her in death.
Graveside funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Bellevue Cemetery with the Rev. Bruce Kent officiating. Foos and Son Funeral Home, 311 W. Main St., Bellevue, is in charge of arrangements.
