Mary L. Knupke, 89, of Sandusky, passed away early Friday evening, Oct. 26, at the Providence Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
She was born in Sandusky, Ohio on Aug. 16, 1918, and was a 1936 graduate of Sandusky High School. She retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. where she had worked for many years.
After retiring, she worked at the Schnurr Construction Company. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Mary was a member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ.
She is survived by her cousins and preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mayme (Volk) Roberts; husband, Theodore "Ted" Knupke in 1957; and a brother, Harvey Roberts.
At her request, there will be no visitation. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday morning, Oct. 29, at Oakland Cemetery. The Rev. Rob Patton will officiate.
