James M. Dziak, 78, of Marblehead, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, in The Cleveland Clinic.
He was born April 18, 1929, in Lakeside, the son of Michael and Anna (Ontko) Dziak, now deceased. James was an inspector for New Departure in Sandusky. He was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Marblehead, where he previously served on church council. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a volunteer dispatcher for the Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department and a member and past commander of VFW Post 7572, Marblehead.
Surviving are his brother, Donald (Sheila) Dziak of Bend, Ore.; sister, Janet Slobodzian of Port Clinton; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead, where Panachida services will be at 6:30 p.m. Office of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Marblehead. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Church Cemetery with VFW Post 7572 presenting military honors.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department or St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church.
