Joseph R. "Bopper" Kostal, 74, of Marblehead, and formerly of Broadview Heights, Ohio, and Johnson's Island, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, in Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton.
He was born March 12, 1933, in Cleveland the son of Joseph and Marie (Anderews) Kostal, now deceased. He married Lorraine Hutton Aug. 12, 1954, and she preceded him in death in 2003. He was the owner/operator of Marblehead Golf Carts. He previously owned and operated Big Boppers in Marblehead and Lake Erie Machinery in Cleveland. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Marblehead VFW Post 7572.
Surviving are his son, Ken (Diane) Kostal of Fremont; daughters, Deborah (Michael) Korinek of Orange Village, Ohio, and Kathleen (Bill) Seitz of Seven Hills, Ohio; granddaughter, Taryn Seitz; grandson, Brian Seitz; brother, Tom (Charlotte) Kostal of Macedonia, Ohio; niece, Marlaine (John) Zitkewicz of Streetsboro; and nephew, Tom (Julie) Kostal of Twinsburg, Ohio.
A Celebration of Boppers life will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Camp Runinmuck in Marblehead.
Memorials may be given to Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department or Marblehead Vol. Fire Department.
