Mary Sosa, age 88, of the Providence Care Center, Sandusky, and formerly of Castalia, has gone to join her Lord and Savior.
Mary was born March 6, 1919, in Dilley, Texas.
She met and married Felix Sosa Sr. and moved to Ohio in 1949. Mary was a lifelong member of Wayside Temple, Castalia, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Mary's home was always open to anyone in need, and she often shared her home with individuals who needed a place to live and someone who would love them.
She is survived by three daughters, Audrey (Dell) Day of Castalia, Dorothy Haerr and Betty (Steve) Sidoti, both of Sandusky; four sons, Wally (Linda) Sosa of Sandusky, Felix (Cruz) Sosa of Clyde, James (Julie) Sosa of Milan and Rick Sosa of Texas; four brothers Ralph, Jesse, Joe and Alfred Gutierrez all of Texas. Mary also leaves a legacy of 31 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Sosa Sr. in 1971; her parents, Quirino and Nasaria Guiterrez; three sisters, Josephine (Aubra) Ward, Martha (Raul) Gonzales and Sarah (Alfred) Zavala and two brothers, Quirino and Leonard Gutierrez, all of Texas.
Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. Sunday in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St. Castalia. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. Monday until services at 10 a.m. in Wayside Temple, Maple Avenue, Castalia.
Pastor Rusty Yost will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
