Dale K. Wahlers, 67, of Oak Harbor and formerly of Catawba Island, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, due to an automobile accident near Oak Harbor.
He was born July 20, 1940, on Catawba Island, a son of Eugene "Bootie" and Cletora (King) Wahlers. Dale was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 114, Oak Harbor. He was an employee of USCO, Port Clinton, retiring in August 2002. A member of St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge, Dale was also an avid bowler, loved fishing, and enjoyed going on rides with his wife in his yellow MG. Dale loved his family, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
May 2, 1970, he married the former Vicky Myers, and she survives. Also surviving is his son, Eugene Wahlers of Millbury, Ohio; daughter, Heather (Andy) Johnson of Genoa, Ohio; brother, Glenn Wahlers of Castalia; sister-in-law, Vanda Wahlers of Catawba Island; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Keith Wahlers; sister-in-law, Betty Wahlers; and nephew, Corey Wahlers.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday in Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge, with the Rev. Jeff Kimpel officiating.
Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or Mid-County E.M.S., Oak Harbor.
