Alberto "Keekee" Rodriguez Jr., 61, of Sandusky, passed away early Saturday morning, Feb. 18, 2012, at Firelands Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born July 29, 1950, in Sandusky, the son of the late Alberto and Amelia (Martinez) Rodriguez, Sr. He was a graduate of Margaretta High School. He was employed at the Ohio Veterans Home, where he worked in the dietary department of the Secrest kitchen. He had previously worked at Sandusky Cabinets for many years.

Alberto was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and he was actively involved with the VFW Post 2529. He was a past member of the American Legion Post 83, AMVETS Post 17 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 444.

He enjoyed life to the fullest, loved the company of good friends and sharing laughs.

He is survived by his sons, Alberto (Nicole) Rodriguez III of Sandusky and Phillip (Margie) Rodriguez of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren, Shelby, Toby, Dakota, Aaron and Trinity Rodriguez; sister, Shirley Burris of Sandusky; longtime companion and best friend, Mark Feltz; and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

Alberto was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Rebecca Blevins; and brothers, Samuel Rodriguez and Michael Shuket.

Friends will be received from 5-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Groff Funeral Home and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the funeral home with Deacon Jeff Claar officiating.

Burial will take place in Perkins Cemetery.
