Barbara S. (Sartor) Brent, 52, of Sandusky, passed away late Tuesday evening, Oct. 16, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.
She was born June 25, 1955, in Sandusky, and was a 1973 graduate of St. Mary's High School. Barb had worked for many years as a veterinarian assistant, with her husband, Gary, at Brent Veterinary Center, Sandusky. She loved hunting, fishing, traveling with her family on vacations, and enjoyed bird banding for the Black Swamp Bird Observatory. She is a member of Faith Memorial Church.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 30 years, Dr. Gary S. Brent, whom she married Oct. 27, 1977; son, Stephen G. "Steve" Brent of Sandusky; family, Kathleen A. Dick of Bellevue, MarE Francis of Atlanta, Ga., and Earl R. Sartor, Jean E. (Joe) Bayer, and Peggy J. LaGay, all of Sandusky; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George E. and Betty Ann (Harris) Sartor.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today in David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky and from 10 a.m. Friday until services at 11 a.m. in Faith Memorial Church, 1320 E. Strub Road, Sandusky. The Rev. Kenneth L. Hiser will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
