Thomas R. Cudnik, 85, ofSandusky, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, in St. Vincent's after a brief illness.
He was born Jan. 16, 1922, in West Wyoming, Pa., and was a 1939 graduate of West Wyoming, Pa. He attended John CarrollUniversity prior to his enlistment into the U.S. Navy.
He was employed with the former Philco Co. from 1942-63, and retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1984.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a lifetime member of VFW Post 2529.
Mr. Cudnik is survived by a son, Thomas G. (Karen) Cudnik of Huron; five daughters, Cathleen (Michael) Kelly of Charlotte, N.C., Maryellen (Edward) Odrowski of Seminole, Fla., twins, Donna (Gary) Gilbert of Huron and Diane (Theodore) Thompson of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Judith (Charles) Cottier of Kilgore, Texas; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Regina Taber of Flatrock, Ohio, and Rose Marie Bell of Woodstock, Ga.; two brothers, William Cudnik of Port Huron, Mich., and James Cudnik of New Haven, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Mary Patricia (Brobst) Cudnik, whom he married Nov. 9, 1946; his parents, Andrew A. and Pauline A. (Huntz) Cudnik; and his brother, Andrew Cudnik.
Friends will be received from5-8 p.m. Thursday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave.,Sandusky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Friday in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, with The Rev. Marty Nassr officiating.
Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park.
