Carolyn M. "Winkie" (Weber) Senn, 76, of Sandusky, passed away Oct. 12, 2007, after a long illness.
She was born June 18, 1931, in Egg Harbor City, N.J., the daughter of Harry and Caroline (Howe) Weber. She attended St. Nicholas Elementary, and graduated from Egg Harbor High School in June 1949. In September 1981, Carolyn retired from Ohio Bell after 31 years of service, having worked in Sandusky, Fremont and Toledo.
She was a member of Holy Angel's Catholic Church, Sandusky, and Pioneers of Ohio, Kingsberry Chapter. She also volunteered her time to help students at Venice Heights and Hancock Elementary Schools for a number of years.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacquelyn (Mark) Smith; granddaughters, Susan (Brian) Sartor and Samantha Smith and one great-grandson, Braden M. Sartor, all of Sandusky; two sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" (Loy) of Omaha, Neb., and Joan Dayringer of Clyde; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Senn, who died Sept. 7, 2003; her parents; two brothers; five sisters; a nephew and two nieces.
At her request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be 3 p.m., Oct. 19, 2007, in Holy Angel's Catholic Church, 1605 East Jefferson St., Sandusky, with the Rev. Chris Kardzis officiating. Inurnment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children's Department of the Sandusky Library, 114 W. Adams St., Sandusky, or to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky. Arrangements entrusted to Groff Funeral Home, Sandusky.
