Thomas E. Watters, 71, of Norwalk, died Saturday afternoon, Oct. 6, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus.
He was born Dec. 25, 1935, in Sandusky and was a 1954 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was employed by the former New Departure Hyatt for 23 years, retiring in January 1990. He was an avid sports fan, and loved to golf.
He is survived by his wife, Diane (Barber) Watters, to whom he was married 24 years; son, Patrick Thomas (Jill) Watters of Monroeville; daughters, Tammy L. (Dale) Rhodes of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Cheryl A. Watters of Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Bonita Mauger of Baltimore, Ohio, and Nancy Gove of Wellington, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo A. and Bessie B. (Triplett) Watters; grandchildren, Winston Samuel Watters, Jacob Lee Watters and Rosemary Lynn Watters; sisters, Eleanor Jenkins and Shirley Martin; and brothers, Walter Watters, Richard Watters, Lee Watters, and Rolland Watters.
There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Grace Episcopal Church, 315 Wayne St., Sandusky. The Rev. Ernest Matijasic will officiate. Following the services, the family would like to invite friends to the Sycamore Hills Golf Course Club House, 14 Sycamore Hill Drive, Norwalk.
