Mac Shine, 68, of Sandusky, beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away Sept. 25, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, after a brief illness.
He was born March 5, 1939, in Starkville, Miss., to Anthony and Lou Della Shine. Mac lived and worked in Sacramento, Calif., for most of his life, moving to Sandusky in 1989. He was a construction worker for 30 years. He enjoyed cooking, playing the guitar and spending time with his grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memories, daughters, Girtha A. Shine of Sandusky and Samantha Shine of Sacramento, grandchildren,Gabrielle Fengress, Richard L. Shine and Anthony Harton; sisters, M. Brown, Annie R. Shine and Gertha L. Thomas, all of Memphis, Tenn., and Annie K. Tate of Starkville; brothers, Joseph Shine and Tannie B. Shine Sr., both of Sandusky; companion, Patricia Warren of Sandusky; and a host of nieces, nephews, otherrelatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Alice Sykes and Rosie Lee Shine; brothers, Richard L. Shine, Anthony Shine Jr. and Willie Lee Shine.
Friends may call from noon Saturday until services at 1 p.m. in Porter's Memorial C.M.E. Church, 1722 Third St., Sandusky. The Rev. Tom Stallings will officiate.
