Mary A. (Casali) Egger, 85, of Sandusky, passed away early Tuesday morning, Oct. 2, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
She was born April 2, 1922, in Sandusky, and was a 1940 graduate of Sandusky High School. She co-owned and operated with her husband, Egger's Variety Store and Bob-A-Lou Skateland in Sandusky. Later, she worked for many years as a secretary at Russell's Flower Shoppe. This loving lady, who enjoyed spending time with her family, will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Mary was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and had been a longtime member of the IAB Club Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her son, Robert C. (Patricia) Egger of Sandusky; daughter, Donna M. Silverwood of Sandusky; seven grandchildren, Charles (Laura Dunipace) Egger of Columbus, Eileen Egger of Seattle, Wash., Andrew (Sarah) Egger of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Katherine (Eric) Kromer of Sandusky, Nicholas (Amie) Silverwood of Toronto, Canada, Mark Silverwood of Norwalk and Anne Silverwood of Grand Prairie, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Sydney, Cole and Brittan Kromer and Brianna Egger; sister, Inez Ceccoli of Sandusky; brother, Frank (Joanne) Casali of Sandusky; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dominic and Domenica (Filanti) Casali; husband, Robert J. Egger in 1974; three sisters, Jane Samaritoni, Jean Dodge and Anita Filipucci; and three brothers, Primo, Mike and Leo Casali.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday in David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where a Liturgical Service will be 7:30 p.m. and services will be 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Marty Nassr will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
