Maggie (Webster) Buckner, 94, of Parkvue Nursing Home, and formerly of 1239 Pierce St., Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday evening, Sept. 30, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, after a lengthy illness.
Maggie was born Dec. 4, 1912, in Nashville, Tenn., the daughter of William and Altha Webster, now deceased. She was a loving mother and wife, taking care of her home and raising her family. She was united in marriage March 18, 1931, to Garfield Buckner. She was a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Sandusky, where she served on the Usher Board.
Mrs. Buckner is survived by her daughter, Diane (Roger) Ward of Sandusky; one granddaughter, Sheena Evans; two grandsons, Jason and Joshua Evans; three great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Martin, Jayanna Evans and Michael Ward; nieces, Jaunita Moore, Willie Catherine Gambrell and Althea Johnson; and nephew, Stanley Webster.
Her husband, Garfield Buckner, who died April 12, 1977; her parents; sisters, Dallas Gordon, Hattie McIntosh, Alice Gordan and Mary Della Coleman; and brothers, Orestis, William and Edward Webster, preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. Thursday until services at 1 p.m. in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky, with the Rev. Curtis Brown and Bishop Clifton Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
