Gerald J. "Jerry" Fahning, 74, of Milan, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, in Gaymont Nursing Home, Norwalk, after an extended illness.
Jerry was born Aug. 21, 1933, in Buffalo, N.Y. He retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1992 after 32 years of service and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Jerry was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Milan. He enjoyed horses and was a blacksmith. He enjoyed bowling, football and playing cards.
Survivors include twin daughters, Michelle (Frank) Kromer and Kelly (Sean) Schaffer, both of Norwalk; son, Timothy (Sharon) Fahning of Milan; four grandchildren, Danielle Fahning, Evan and Kristin Fahning and Alan Kromer; and brother, Bill Fahning of Buffalo, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Edna (Chadwick) Fahning; and his wife, Violet (Doleski) Fahning.
Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. Saturday until prayers at 9:30 a.m. in Groff Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St., Milan. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Milan. The Rev. Frank Speier will officiate.
