Curtiss W. Lucal, 92, of Norwalk, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 25, 2007, in Gaymont Nursing Center.
He was born Sept. 23, 1915, in Collins, to the now deceased William and Clara (Elms) Lucal and was a lifelong area resident. He was a 1933 graduate of Townsend High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II in the Philippines and served in the Pacific Theatre including Japan. He was discharged in 1946 as a staff sergeant. He was an installer for the Gene Widman Company and retired in 1980 after 20 years ofservice.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille I. (Ross) Lucal of Norwalk, to whom he was married for more than 60 years; son, Brian (Kim) Lucal of New London; and daughter, Linda; his grandchildren, Chad and Kristin Lucal; and sister, Lauretta Finlay of Wilmington, Del.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Henry "Hank" Lucal; and by his sisters, Lucille Hill and Ilo Debout.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, where services will be 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Dr. Roger Smith will officiate. Burial will be in WoodlawnCemetery.
