Evelyn Ruth (Keegan) Lange, 84, of 2003 Westwind Drive, Sandusky, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born May 19, 1923, in Vickery, one of 12 children of Effi and Mary Katherine Keegan. She was a graduate of Townsend High School. Evelyn worked for many years in the banking industry. She started at Western Security Bank and eventually became a bank manager.

She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Sandusky. Since her husband's death in 1994, Evelyn became an active volunteer in the Sandusky community. She gave her time to Stein Hospice, Merry-Go-Round Museum, State Theatre, Meals on Wheels and Providence Hospital. She enjoyed the many friends she made through volunteering and playing bridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter M. Lange; her parents; nine brothers and sisters and an infant grandson.

She is survived by her children, Linda (James) Zimsky of San Diego, Jack (Susan) Lange of Huron, Paula (Lawson Hubbard) Tuttle of Mill Valley, Calif., and Peter (Jackie) Lange of Poway, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, Matthew (Kristi), Andrew, Ali, Bret, Kelly (Paul), Ian, Rory, Conor, Pete and Katherine; and two stepgrandchildren, Molly and Ted; two sisters, Evaden Dee of Sandusky and Kathryn Meifert of Norwalk; two sisters-in-law, Helen Keegan and Amelia Keegan; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Charles E. Singler, Rector of Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, Toledo, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.

The family would like to thank Dr. Steven Roshon and Katy and Jeanene of Stein Hospice for their loving care during her final hours.
