Margaret Catherine Butler, 78, of Lakeland, Fla., passed away Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at Oakbridge Health Care Center in Lakeland, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease.
She was born July 11, 1929, in Castalia and was a 1947 graduate of St. Mary High School, Sandusky. She was a longtime resident of Sandusky, where she was an active member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and a member of the Postal Carriers Ladies Auxiliary.
She moved to Lakeland in 1981 and was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. She was a homemaker, devoted wife and loving mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Weichel and Helen (Mehrle) Weichel.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard L. Butler; one daughter, Elizabeth A. Dobbert of Hummelstown, Pa.; three sons, James R. Butler of Toledo, Francis M. Butler of Seffner, Fla., and Mark C. Butler of Lakeland; sister, Mary Lou Gallagher of Sandusky; brother, Robert M. Weichel of Sandusky; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass/memorial service will be at Resurrection Catholic Church at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Good Shepherd Hospice.
