Elizabeth Ann (Dorr) Clausen, 76, of Purcellville, Va., died suddenly Thursday, Sept.13, 2007.
Ann was born Aug. 7, 1931, the daughter of Russell and Leola Dorr. She graduated from Milan High School and attended Bowling Green State University. She was an accountant for more than 20 years at Faulhaber Company in Monroeville. An avid historian, she also worked for a period at the National Inventors Hall of Fame in Akron, Ohio, and volunteered and served on various boards for the Milan Historical Society.
Ann volunteered for several years in and around the Milan area, notably with the Humane Society of Erie County and the Erie County Prosecutor's Office. She, with her husband Peter, spent many wonderful years sailing on their boat, October, and was a long time member of the Huron Yacht Club. She was a member of Edison Memorial United Methodist Church.
Her memory will be cherished by surviving family members: her four daughters, Kim (Craig) Matthews of Aiken, S.C., Kathy (Robert) Weitzel of Cornelius, N.C., Karen Gallagher of Purcellville, Va., and Kristen Lake (David) of Grafton, Ohio; one sister, Jeanette Smith of Elyria; and her grandchildren, Kona Gallagher, Kali (Joel) Bodine , Russell (Katie) Lake , Andrew Lake and TJ Seagert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; and her parents, Russell and Leola Dorr.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in Groff Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St., Milan, where services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor Larry Nocella of Camden Baptist Church, Grafton, Ohio, will officiate. Interment will be next to her husband Peter in the Dorr family plot in Milan Cemetery.
