Joseph William "Bill" Tellson, 82, of Sandusky, died Thursday afternoon, Sept. 13, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, after a lengthy illness.
He was born Feb. 8, 1925, in Orange, N.J., to Joseph E. and Esther M. (Marx) Tellson. Bill was a graduate of Tufts University, Medford, Mass. He was retired from New Departure-Hyatt Division of General Motors. He was the design engineer responsible for the front wheel bearings used on all GM front-wheel drive vehicles, as well as many other vehicles.
He is survived by his sister, Ann (James E.) Hurley of Chatham, N.J., his brother, J. Richard Tellson of Morristown, N.J.; and six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Esther (Marx) Tellson; and his sister, Marjorie Taylor.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. J. Douglas Garand will officiate. Burial will be later in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, N.J.
