Nellie Weatherspoon, 80, of Berlin Heights, died Monday morning, Sept. 10, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born July 14, 1927, in Sandusky and lived in the area her whole life. She was a homemaker. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years at the former Milan Friends Church. She loved cooking and baking.
She is survived by her daughters, Betty (Joel) Christiansen of Norwalk and Kathy (Joseph) Doyon of Berlin Heights; sons, Terry (Sandra) Weatherspoon of Vickery and Mickey (Donna) Weatherspoon of Castalia; sisters, Helen Platt of Norwalk, Anna Willis of Sandusky and Betty (Russ) Dickman of Sandusky; a brother, Harry (Alice) Smith, of Sandusky; 12 grandchildren including James Christiansen who is serving in the Air Force in England; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd; her parents, Peter and Preiss (Wiley) Smith; three sisters; and three brothers.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South St., Berlin Heights, where services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park near Huron.
