Raymond A. Bollini, 58, of Castalia, passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 8, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 6, 1948, in the Republic of San Marino, Italy. When he was four years old his family came over from Italy to Sandusky. He was a 1967 graduate of Perkins High School and was employed by Delphi for more than 28 years. Ray was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was involved with the Castalia Recreation Baseball and Softball programs for many years.
He was an OHSAA umpire, a member of the Sandusky Umpires Association, and a member of the Communita Samarinese of Detroit.
He enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, playing with his grandchildren, and everything his family was involved with.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Windau) Bollini; two daughters, Karli and Nickole Bollini, both of Castalia; two sons, Tony (Elizabeth) Bollini of Sandusky and Joseph Bollini of Castalia; grandchildren, Marianna and Haiden Bollini; two sisters, Nazzarena (James) Crooks of Sandusky and Mari (Kris) Saunders of Toledo; and several nieces and nephews.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Carlo and Lucia (Moscioni) Bollini.
Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be 9:15 a.m. Wednesday followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Doug Garrand will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
