Thomas F. Hurlehy, 79, of 2033 Rhode St., Sandusky, died Sunday evening, Sept. 2, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born Aug. 20, 1928, in Willard. He retired in 1992 after 45 years employment with General Motors. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, a lifetime member of Sandusky Elks Lodge 285, and a member of the United Auto Workers. He enjoyed watching football, baseball, NASCAR, and also enjoyed cooking.
He is survived by his loving wife, the former Bessie M. Valentine, whom he married Dec. 18, 1965; his daughters, Claudia (Dennis) Faiola and Kathy (Dale) Henderson, both of Massillon, Ohio, and Terri (John) Hartwig of Lakeland, Fla.; five grandchildren; two great-grandsons; two sisters, Gerry Hurlehy and Joan Allen, both of Toledo; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, Michael and Dorothy (Renner) Hurlehy, and a stepdaughter, Vicki Lynn Brownell, preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. James Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
