Paul J. Stinson, 78, of Port Clinton, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, at his residence.
He was born July 3, 1929, in Tazwell County, Va., the son of George B. and Dora (Blankenship) Stinson, now deceased. He married Betty Overmyer May 16, 1959, and she survives. Mr. Stinson worked as a door and cabinet maker for Matthews Boat Co. and also Gem Beach Marina and Lakeside Marina before retiring in 1986. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, and was a U. S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, wood working and restoring old furniture.
Surviving are his wife, Betty; sons, Charles (Deborah), Mark and Brian, all of Port Clinton; grandchildren, Kyle Stinson and Leslie Crockford; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Stinson and William Earl Stinson and sisters, Blanche Mills, Mae Park, Ruth Helbert and Bessie Fawbush.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, where funeral services will at 11 a.m. Saturday. Pastor Bruce Bachelor-Glader will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
