William A. "Bill" Laughlin, 77, formerly of 412 Taylor St., Sandusky, passed away early Tuesday morning, Sept. 4, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky, after an illness.
Bill was born Oct. 22, 1929, in Bristol, Va. He was retired from Cedar Point Amusement Park where he worked for many years in Park Services. He loved hunting and camping. He had attended Faith Memorial Church and was a member of Union Local 480.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary (Roger) Rogers and Diane (Ronald) Widman and three sons, Thomas L. (Debbie) Laughlin, William J. (Kathy) Laughlin, all of Sandusky, and Leonard T. Laughlin of Lincoln Park, Mich.; nine grandchildren, Tommy, Jason, Jennifer, Stephanie, Andrea, Benjamin, Erik, Corey and Doug; four great-grandchildren, Shawn, Westin, Joseph and Brynn; brother, Jake (Marilyn) Laughlin of Burgoon, Ohio; three sisters, Nancy Roller, Jessielee Whitaker and Linda Whitaker, all of Bristol, Tenn.; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine M. (LaRose) Laughlin (2000); parents, Sylvan and Margaret (Bright) Laughlin; three brothers, Lloyd, Carl and Grady Laughlin; and two sisters, Loma King and Martha Whitaker.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, and from 10 a.m. Friday until funeral services at 11 a.m. at Faith Memorial Church, 1320 E. Strub Road, Sandusky. The Rev. Kenneth Hiser will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Sandusky.
