Theadora "Teddi" Gerber, 66, of Norwalk, died Sunday morning, Sept. 2, 2007, in Norwalk Memorial Home.
She was born May 22, 1941, in Akron and was a lifelong area resident. She was a 1959 graduate of New London High School. She was a former member of Wakeman Congregational Church where she sang in the choir for 20 years. She was a member of Norwalk First United Methodist Church and a 20-year member of its choir and was also a Confirmation friend in faith for several years. She was an associate for Gerber Funeral Homes for 43 years; was a former employee of Norwalk Travel; and was co-owner of Finance Services of Norwalk. She was a volunteer for Huron County Services for the Aging and enjoyed cooking, reading, traveling, playing piano and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Carl L. Gerber Sr. of Norwalk; her daughter and son-in-law, Annie and Chris Bleile of Norwalk; her sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Jan Gerber Jr. of Columbus, Troy and Anna Gerber of Avon Lake, Ohio, and Brett and Patty Gerber of Boca Raton, Fla; nine grandchildren; her mother, Stella Towstiak of Valrico, Fla., and father, Theador Towstiak; and her sister, Corrine Horton of Brandon, Fla.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Norwalk First United Methodist Church, 60 W. Main St., Norwalk, where funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Dr. Roger Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Wakeman Cemetery.
