Mary Ruth (Dahlhofer) Ramsey, 85, of Huron, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007 in Sandusky.
She was born Dec. 19, 1921, in Huron, where she was a life-long resident. She was the daughter of George and Katie (Wiegand) Dahlhofer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Warden, Arthur, Melvin, Gerald, and Harold Dahlhofer.
Mary Ruth is survived by her husband of 67 years, Wilbur F. Ramsey; her two children, Linda K. Herchek and Donald L. (Rene V.) Ramsey; seven grandchildren, Michael (Wendy) Herchek, Susan (Jeffrey) Flynn, Andrew (Pearl) Herchek, Kelly (Jermaine) Spivey, John (Joanna) Ramsey, Stephanie Lutz and Elizabeth Lutz; and five great-grandchildren.
Mary Ruth was a 1939 graduate of Huron High School and a life-long, active member of Huron United Methodist Church. She and her husband, Wilbur, were married July 27, 1940, and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada in their Airstream with the WBCCI, Toledo Unit. Mary Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid reader and gardener. She will be remembered for her family devotion, her loving ways, her intellect and her wit.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Foster Funeral Home, 410 Main St., Huron, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until services at 11 a.m. in the United Methodist Church, 338 Williams St., Huron. The Rev. Roger Skelley-Watts will officiate. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery, Huron.
