Virginia R. (Glenn) Ivec, 89, of 2624 15th St., Sandusky, passed away early Sunday morning, Aug. 26, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.
She was born Oct. 15, 1917, in Cleveland. Virginia was a self-employed beautician at Edna Clare Beauty Salon in Cleveland, retiring in 1964, after 25 years of service.
Mrs. Ivec is survived by four daughters, Donna (Joseph) Bavec of Cleveland, Ruth Anne (the Rev. Elmer) Novak of Sandusky, Patricia Murphy of Vermilion and Barbara (James) Struble of Sandusky; one son, Joseph T. Murphy Jr. of Hampton, Va.; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Luther Paddock in 1981; her second husband, Joseph T. Murphy in 1969; her parents, James Porter and Anna Marie (Brown) Glenn; seven sisters, Violet, Rachel and Bessie Glenn, all in infancy, and Margaret Kelso, Georgia Randall, Ellen Struble and Agnes Opperman; and two brothers, John Glenn in infancy, and James Glenn.
Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Oakland Cemetery Chapel, 2917 Milan Road, Sandusky. The Rev. Elmer C. Novak will officiate. Entombment in the Oakland Cemetery Mausoleum will follow.
