Carol M. Manner, 78, of Castalia, died Saturday, morning, Aug. 25, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born Jan. 17, 1929, in Sandusky. She graduated in 1946 from Sandusky High School. Carol was employed by Vulcan Materials and Wilkel Manufacturing. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Castalia, and Women of the Church and helped with the bereavement dinners at the church. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, National Secretary Association, Bloomingville Group and the YMCA.
She is survived by one daughter, Ruth Ann (Michael) McCoy of Columbus; son, David (Beverly) Mix of Castalia; three step-sons, Kenny (Pat) Manner of Sandusky, Mark (Jean) Manner of Sandusky and Todd Manner of Sandusky; two grandchildren, Philip (Kris) Mix of Germany and Joseph Mix of Chicago; 11 step-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; two step great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Audrey Jean Krueger of Castalia and Ruth Miller of Sandusky; one brother, Vernon (Ruth) Warner of St. Mary's, Ohio; three half brothers, Larry (Debbie) Warner of Norwalk, Paul (Pamela) Warner of Sandusky, and Greg (Denise) Warner; and several nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald J. Mix in 1971; second husband, Robert Manner in 1997; and parents, Vernon and Thelma Warner.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington, Castalia, and from 10 a.m. Tuesday until services at 11 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia. The Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
