Viola T. "Vi" Baker, 79, of North Fairfield, died early Saturday morning, Aug. 25, 2007, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
She was born April 28, 1928, in Sandusky, to the now deceased Joseph and Jennie (DeLuca) Fresch and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and North Fairfield American Legion Post 706 Auxiliary. She was a former employee of the Mary Lee Candy Company, Fanny Farmer Candy Company, Rotary Printing and North Fairfield American Legion. She enjoyed needlework and crafting.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harry T. Baker of North Fairfield: daughter, Shirley May Hopek of Kingsland, Ga.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Fresch of Sandusky and Vincent (Phyllis) Fresch of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; and sisters, Rose (Salvatore) LaRose and Shirley Myer, both of Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Bacni, Theresa Moots and Alma Everett.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Settlement Road, Norwalk.
The Rev. Kenneth Lill will officiate. Burial will be in North Fairfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St, Alphonsus Catholic Church.
