Ruth E. (Fitz) Grimmer, 88, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, in Park View Health Care Center.
She was born Sept. 19, 1918, in Sandusky and was raised in Norwalk. Ruth was a secretary for the former Norwalk Truck Lines and the former Periodical Publishers. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Council of Catholic Women, Norwalk St. Paul School Alumni Association, Women's Association of Providence and a volunteer at the former Providence Hospital.
Mrs. Grimmer is survived by one son, Robert (Cheryl) Grimmer of Sandusky; two grandsons, Ronald (Lisa) of Haskins, Ohio, and Donald (Stephanie) of Norwalk; and five great-grandchildren, Allison, Hayle, Dillon, Noah and Keegan Grimmer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Grimmer in 1994; her parents, Charles F. and Margaret (Haar) Fitz; and one sister, Irene Fitz.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. Monday until prayers at 10:30 a.m. in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Father Ken Lill will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
