Fred A. Jones, 58, of Sandusky, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born July 30, 1938, in Los Angeles, and graduated in 1956 from Point Loma High School in San Diego. Fred settled his family in Tucson, Ariz., where he founded Nite Owl Sweeping Service. He retired in 2002 and made Sandusky his permanent residence. He was a member of the Sandusky Yacht Club, Sandusky Elks Lodge, and a lifetime member of the Sandusky Maritime Museum. He was a frequent volunteer driver for Serving Our Seniors.
Fred is survived by a daughter, Laurie (Kevin) Iverson of Tucson; son, Jeff Jones of Tucson; sister, Carolyn Johnson of Sandy, Utah; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his loving companion, Anne Kramer of Sandusky.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta; his father, Arthur Jones; mother, Connie (Donick) Brown; stepfather, Larry Brown; and stepbrother, Larry Brown Jr.
At the request of the deceased, cremation has taken place in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Monday until a remembrance celebration at 11 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, 106 Scheid Road and U.S. 250, Sandusky. The Rev. William Hlavin will officiate.
