Stephen Charles Dubois, 47, of Sandusky, died Friday morning, Aug. 17, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center after a battle with cancer.
He was born April 25, 1960, in Hartford, Conn. He was a 1978 graduate of Huron High School, where during his senior year he served as captain of the football team, and also earned All-Conference honors in football and wrestling. He received his associate's degree in engineering from Columbus Technology Institute. He had been employed as a field engineer at American Electric Power in Columbus for several years. Stephen was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He loved his family, fishing, boating, water-skiing, hunting and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Hayes), whom he married May 7, 2005; his daughter, Samantha Jane Dubois of Bellevue; sons, Zachary and Grant Dubois of Toledo; mother, S. Ann (Ingari) Coletta of Sandusky; sisters, Corinne (Michael) Hetzel of New Mexico and Sharon (Richard) Gundlach of Huron; step-daughter, Kimberly (Ron) Burkhart of Sandusky; step-sons, Robert Head of Sandusky and James Head of Port Clinton; and several nieces and a nephew.
His father, Arthur Joseph Dubois, preceded him in death Feb. 7, 2001.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Sunday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, with a liturgical service at 6:30 p.m. and where prayers will be 1 p.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Marty Nassr will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
