Wilma J. Collier, 67, of Norwalk, died Thursday morning, Aug. 16, 2007, in her home in Norwalk.
She was born Nov. 20, 1939, in Norwalk, and was a 1957 graduate of St. Paul High School. She worked more than 40 years for Norwalk Furniture Corp. and retired in 1998 as human resources manager. She was an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church, St. Paul Alumni Association and St. Paul Booster Club. She enjoyed spending time with her extended family, golfing, gardening and playing cards.
She is survived by her brother, Kenneth (Martha) Collier of Bellevue; sisters, Delores Wheeler of Norwalk and Mary (Robert) Stein of Milan; aunt, Sister Leonette Kramer of Sisters of St. Joseph; eight nieces; 10 nephews; and 39 great-nieces and nephews; and two great-great-nieces; and many special friends and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William "Gene" Collier and Helen (Kramer) Collier; and a brother-in-law, Donald Wheeler.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today in Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk, where a wake service will be 8:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. Frank Kehres, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.
