Virginia "Gini" Jane Troutman, 56, of 7403 Falls View Circle, Delaware, Ohio, and formerly of Sandusky, died early Tuesday morning, Aug. 14, 2007, in Delaware Court Health Care Center, after a brief illness.
She was born March 4, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pa. She graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a BS in education. She retired from the Sandusky City Schools after 30 years as a teacher at Ontario School and also worked part-time as a reading teacher at Hancock School. Gini was a member of Powell United Methodist Church and St. Stephens United Church of Christ. She enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts, being with children, her son and grandchildren and her pets.
She is survived by her husband, Terry E. Troutman, whom she married June 2, 1973; her son, Mark (Rachel) Troutman of Powell, Ohio; her grandchildren, Luke and Mackenzie Troutman; and her sister, Joanne Hedgespeth of LaGrange, Ky.
Her parents, Walter H. and Donice V. (Vail) Rea; and her maternal and paternal grandparents preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where services will be 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Elmer Novak will officiate.
