Dwayne L. Burson, 69, of Norwalk, died Monday morning, Aug. 13, 2007, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk.
He was born May 29, 1938, in Findlay, Ohio, and was a 1956 graduate of Findlay High School. He served in the Ohio National Guard from 1960-64. He was co-owner and operator of B & R Carpet Care in Norwalk from 1973-96. After retirement, he worked as a maintenance worker at Geo Trac. He attended the Sandusky Community Church of Nazarene in Sandusky, was a member of the Norwalk Eagles Aerie 711 and Car Coddlers, and was an avid car enthusiast. He enjoyed boating, camping and played drums in his band, The High Country Band, for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary J. (Willis) Burson of Norwalk; daughters and sons-in-law, Julie (Kent) Sizemore of Findlay, Becky (Craig) Cochran of Findlay, and Darla (Bruce) Swiger of Canton, Mich.; son and daughter-in-law, Bradley (Marie) Burson of Norwalk; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; mother, Eilene (Haner) Burson of Arizona; half brother, George Sahadi of Arizona; sister, Joanne Toidmier of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley E. Burson, in 2002.
Friends may call on from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk, where a funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday. Pastor Aaron Thacker will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk.
