Rose (Windau) Huff, 78, of Vickery, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born Feb. 17, 1929, in Sandusky, and was a 1948 graduate of St. Mary Catholic School. She owned and operated R.J.'s Tavern in Whites Landing for 20 years and was employed by Bar 101 for the last 20 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sandusky, and was a former member of Whites Landing Fire Dept. Auxiliary and Sandusky Moose Club Auxiliary. She enjoyed being with her family.
Rose is survived by four daughters, Nancy (Gary) Weilnau of Sandusky, Donna (Tom) Scherf of Sandusky, Cindy (Donnie) Bowers of Whites Landing and Sandy (Charles) Paseka of Vickery; five sons, Bill (Lois) Huff of Sandusky, John (Linda) Huff of Castalia, Bert (Linda) Oeder of Sandusky, Ned (Shirley) Oeder of Whites Landing and David (Sue) Huff of Castalia; daughter-in-law, Twila Huff of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 25 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Frank) Brotzki of Sandusky, Connie Hoffman of Huron and Norma Higgins of Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "R.J" Huff in 1992; son, Dale Huff; grandson R.J. Huff; her parents, Norman and Eloise (Bechtold) Windau; and sister, Jeanette Barnes.
Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, and from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until services at 10:30 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Bardshar Road, Sandusky. The Rev. Philip Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park.
