Anna "Else" Doughty, 87, of Fremont, died Monday morning, Aug. 6, 2007, in Volunteers of America-Bethesda Care Center, Fremont, after a brief illness.
She was born June 18, 1920, in Germany. She was a milliner (hat maker) in Heidelberg, Germany, for many years. She was married in 1954 and moved to Norwalk where she lived with her family until moving to Twinsburg, Ohio, in 1963. After retirement, she moved to Fremont in 1991. She enjoyed bingo, knitting, crocheting, crafts and baking.
She is survived by her husband, Walter I. Doughty of Fremont; daughter and son-in-law, Erika and James Gensman of Port Clinton; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Waldtraud and Anna, both of Germany.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Berta Loeffler; and siblings.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Wednesday until service at 11 a.m. at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. Frank Kehres, pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
