Betty J. Snyder, 81, of Clyde, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born March 7, 1926, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Ira and Zelma (Hammond) Williams, now deceased. Mrs. Snyder was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde. She graduated from Van Wert High School in 1944. For many years, she was a cook for Clyde-Green Springs Schools at Vine Street Elementary, where for the last several years of her employment she was head cook.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Rod) Harris of Norwalk; son, Louis (Nancy) Snyder of Clyde; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen (John) Ackerman, Spencerville, Ohio.
Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Snyder, whom she married Nov. 21, 1945 and who died June 21, 1986; two sisters, Marjorie Williams and Clarabelle Snyder; and four brothers, Raymond Williams, Paul Williams, Charles Williams and Clarence Williams.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church Forest St. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.
