Fred J. Savage, 67, of Huron, died Sunday, July 29, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
He was born June 29, 1940, in Chauncey, Ohio, and was a lifelong resident of Huron. He worked as a truck driver for several motor freight companies, the last being Yellow Freight. He retired in 1998 after 38 years. He belonged to the local Teamsters' Union. He enjoyed auto racing, traveling and fishing.
He is survived by wife, Sue (Powis) to whom he was married 11 years; five daughters, Jaclyn Jackson of Sandusky, Wendy (Tim) Provateare of Huron, Jennifer (Mike) Schmidt of Casselberry, Fla., Melodie (Doug) Bayer of Sandusky and Denise (Randy) Hammill of Sandusky; two sons, Tim (Sherri) Savage of Dublin, Ohio, and Chris (Deanna) Savage of Bellevue; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Wanda Sue Savage; and a brother, Garry (Joanne) Savage of Huron.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Savage and Fanchion (Leffler) Johnson; and three brothers, John, Garold and Ralph Pierce.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Meadow Green Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, Bogart Road, Huron. The Rev. Raymond Vance will officiate.
