Maye M. Shepherd, 84, of Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, July 30, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center Main Campus, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.
She was born June 21, 1923, in Tipple, W.Va., and was a 1941 graduate of Glenn Rogers High School. Maye worked at Elyria Memorial Hospital as a LPN for more than 10 years and later worked a few years at Chrysler Plastics in Sandusky. She enjoyed her crafts and was a member of Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene where she was very active in the Women's Church League and other church works.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (James) LeGron of Huron; son, Ken (Christine) Shepherd of Berlin Heights; eight grandchildren, Amy, Matthew, John, Nicole, Michael, Kelly, Robyn and Christine; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale L. Shepherd (1983); son, Gary M. Shepherd (2007); parents, John and Lakie (Goode) Cozort; and brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. David Flack will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
