Jennie L Walker, 56, of Akron, formerly of Sandusky, died July 26, 2007, in Akron City Hospice Center after a lengthy illness.
She was a gifted artist, gardner and a friend of Bill W.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Kay Smallwood Walker.
She is survived by her father, Dr. James Walker; and his wife, Dorothy; her aunt, Jennie Smallwood Zimmerman; sister, Elizabeth (John) Nielsen and her children, Meredith, James and Matthew; her closest cousin, Jane Walker Plank and her daughters, Mary Katie, Molly and Colleen; and extended family, Joan (Ken) Hartley, Anne (John) Moran and Nancy (John) Herl, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was a graduate of Sandusky High School and attended Drake University School of Art. She had many honors for her sketchworks, paintings and most recently loved making jewelry. As an avid gardener, her lovely garden was the envy of all her neighbors and those who passed by. She will be missed by her family, friends and her amazing cats; Midnite, Bitsy, Angel, Neelix, Dinah and Eepie.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Aug. 5, 2007, in First Presbyterian Church in Sandusky.
Memorial contributions, if desired may be made to the Humane Society or the Interval Brotherhood Home of Akron.
