Evelyn G. Kreimes, 84, of Sandusky, died Thursday morning, July 26, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born Feb. 25, 1923, in Sandusky, where she was a lifelong resident. She was the owner and operator of Kreimes Cardinal Grocery Store for 32 years, retiring in 1995. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and conversing with the customers in the store. Evelyn was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Sandusky and the Eleanor Chapter 331, O.E.S.
She is survived by two sons, Robert J. (Sylvia) Kreimes and Donald Lee Kreimes, both of Sandusky; two daughters, Dianne (Charles) Castle of Huron and Cheryl L. "Cher" (Chet) Sinwald of Sandusky; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and one niece, Pat Long of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Donald G. Kreimes in 1994; her parents, Lee and Jessie (Parker) Merriam; two sisters and one brother.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Sunday in Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. Monday until services at 11 a.m. in Salem United Methodist Church, Wayne and Division streets, Sandusky. The Rev. Donald Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
