Barbara B. Landon, 74, of Monroeville, died Sunday morning, July 15, 2007, in the University of Utah Hospital of injuries sustained in a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 215, Utah.

She was born June 17, 1933, in Paulding, Ohio, and was a graduate of Paulding High School. Barb was a 1955 graduate of Earlham College, Richmond, Ind., and received her master's degree in library science in 1956 from Indiana University. She was the librarian at Monroeville Elementary School, and prior to that at Lima Public Library. She was a member of the Congregational Community United Church of Christ, Monroeville, where she was treasurer of the church council; the Sally Deforest chapter of DAR, where she had served as treasurer and regent; Monroeville Library Friends, where she was vice president; the School Employee Federal Credit Union, where she served on the board of directors as secretary; Monroeville Village Council; Firelands Historical Society; and the Goldwing Riders, Chapter K2, where she was a chapter director.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, George A. Landon; one brother, Richard Barrett of LaGrange, Ind.; one niece, Linda (Rob) Owen of Edwardsburg, Mich.; two nephews, Rick Barrett and James (Jodi) Barrett, both of Lafayette, Ind.; great-nieces and nephews; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Louise (Curtis) Barrett.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe St., Monroeville, where services will be 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Dr. Wayne Chasney will officiate. Tuesday, the body will be taken to Prospect United Methodist Church, where family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. The Rev. David Hoffman and the Rev. Dr. Wayne Chasney will officiate. Burial will be in the Prospect Cemetery.
