Nancy Lee (Gahring) Zeiter, 72, of Bellevue and formerly of North Fairfield, died late Friday, July 13, 2007, in her home.
She was born March 21, 1935, in Union City, Pa., to Ralph and Charlotte (Mosher) Gahring, now deceased. She lived in Norwalk and moved to North Fairfield in 1945, where she was a member of the North Fairfield United Methodist Church. She taught for 24 years with South Central Local Schools.
She was involved for many years with the Girl Scouts of Erie Shores, OEA, NEA, OMSA and North Fairfield Chapter 40 of the Eastern Star. She was a former member of the North Fairfield Council and the Huron County Genealogy Society.
She is survived by her son, Andrew L. Zeiter of Bellevue; daughter, Patricia L. Shay of Bellevue; brothers, James Gahring of Mansfield and Timothy Gahring of Willard; sisters, Mary Grace Cruey of Greenwich and Janet Capelle of North Fairfield; two grandsons, Nikolas and Paul Shay; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Raymond Zeiter in 1995; and sister, Suzanne King of Greenwich.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday in Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in United Methodist Church, 1056 W. Main Street, North Fairfield. The Rev. Lynda Masters will officiate. Burial will follow at North Fairfield Cemetery.
