Caroline Fiore, 83, of High Street in Bellevue passed away Sunday, July 8, 2007, in Erie County Care Facility, Sandusky.
She was born Oct. 21, 1923, in Bellevue, the daughter of Salvatore and Maria (Anello) Loparo, now deceased. Caroline was owner/operator of the former Caroline's Snack Bar in Bellevue and worked at GE Bellevue Lamp Plant. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, D of I, and Club Amer-Ital. She graduated in 1941 from Bellevue High School and will be remembered for her devotion to her grandchildren and family. She enjoyed Italian music, her coffee, making her famous spaghetti sauce, going to church and word puzzles.
Survivors include her daughter, Rose Marie (Robert) Sartor of Bellevue; grandchildren, Cameron Szmik of Bellevue, Jasmine (Todd) Henning of Berlin Center, Ohio, and Ariele Bledsoe of Bellevue; great-grandsons, Todd and Luke Henning of Berlin Center; and sisters, Rose Capizzi and Josephine Perry of Bellevue.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Fiore in 1965, whom she married May 25, 1957, in Bellevue; infant son, Joseph; parents; brothers, John Loparo, Sam Loparo and James Loparo; sisters, Geraldine Consolo, Catherine Sberna and Florence Loparo; and her son-in-law, Gary Szmik.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Foos and Son Funeral Home, 311 W. Main St., Bellevue, where the Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue, with the Very Rev. Keith Stripe officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
