Dominica "Minnie" E. (Missioni) Straziuso, 90, of Courtney Lane, Huron, passed away Friday, July 6, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
She was born April 13, 1917, in Sandusky, the daughter of August and Elvyra (Gentile) Missioni, now deceased. She was employed at the former GE Bellevue Lamp Plant and a cook at the former Jolly Lanes Bowling Center in Bellevue and Cameo Restaurant in Sandusky and worked at the former Tasty Bakery in Bellevue.
Minnie was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Sandusky; the Mothers of Twins Club, Bellevue; Club Amer-Ital, Bellevue; and the IAB Club, Sandusky. She enjoyed cooking, reading, listening to music, spending time with her family and playing cards.
Survivors include her sons, Rocco (Loueda) Straziuso of Chillicothe, Michael (Elizabeth) Straziuso of Lagunawoods, Calif., Anthony (Janet) Straziuso of Sandusky, Dan (Jane) Straziuso of Bryan and John (Pam) Straziuso of Sandusky; daughter, Joanne (Bob) Michel of Huron; sisters, Evelyn Missioni and Rose Olds, both of Boca Raton, Fla., Mary (Jim) Fosco of Sandusky and Anne (Gasper) Lococo of Hudson; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Michael P. Straziuso, whom she married July 2, 1933, in Sandusky; a brother, August Missioni; sister, Josephine Quilter; grandsons, John Michael Straziuso and Steven VanOrdsdall; and her godson, Steven Fosco.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. Tuesday until services at 11 a.m. in Foos and Son Funeral Home, 311 W. Main St., Bellevue, where a Christian scripture service will be 7:30 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Keith Stripe will officiate. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
